Indian Navy 2021 Jobs Recruitment Notification. Indian Navy inviting applications for the positions of Short Service Commission Officer. Interested and Eligible candidates can apply for the positions.

Short Service Commission Officer - 50 Posts

Job Location - Kannur

Education Qualification :

Applications are invited from unmarried eligible male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) for Extended Naval Orientation course commencing Jan 2022 onwards at Indian Naval Academy (INA) Ezhimala, Kerala for under mentioned entries in the Indian Navy. Candidates must fulfill conditions of nationality as laid down by the Government of India. Selected candidates will undergo training with one of the following two distinct courses :-

1. Post Name: Short Service Commission Officer

2. Executive Branch:

(a) General Service (Executive) [GS (X)] - 47

(b) Hydrography - 03

3. Eligible streams of Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology and Other Qualifications:

(a) General Service (Executive) [GS (X)] - BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks.

(b) Hydrography - BE/B.Tech in any discipline with minimum 60% marks.

4. No of Posts: 50

5. Tenure of Commission. Selected candidates will be granted Short Service Commission initially for 10 years extendable by maximum 04 years in 02 terms (02 years + 02 years), subject to service requirement, performance, medical eligibility and willingness of candidates.

6. Training:

(a) Candidates except Ex-Merchant Navy will be inducted in the rank of Sub Lieutenant. Ex-Merchant Navy candidates having Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport Certificate of Competency(Foreign going) either as a Second Mate, Mate or Master will be inducted as Acting Lieutenant.

(b) Officers will undergo 44 weeks training at Naval Academy Ezhimala followed by professional training at Naval Ships and training establishments as per extent regulation.

Note:

(i) Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates be addressed to the call up officer of the concerned SSB on receipt of call up letter. Candidates are to download the call up letter on receiving intimation from IHQ MoD (N) at SMS/email (provided by candidate in their application).

(ii) No compensation is admissible in case of any injury sustained as a result of tests during SSB interviews.

(iii) AC 3 tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for particular type of commission. Candidates are required to bring photocopy of the first page of pass book or cheque leaf where the name, A/C No. & IFSC details are mentioned, while appearing for SSB.

(i) Probation period for Extended (NOC) is two years. The probation period will commence from the date of grant of the rank of Sub Lt (Ag Lt in case of Ex-Merchant Navy candidates) and will terminate after two years or on completion of initial training (whichever is later). During probation, the Officers are liable to be discharged in case of unsatisfactory performance at any stage.

(ii) Only unmarried candidates are eligible for training. Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while under training will be discharged from service and shall be liable to refund full pay & allowances drawn by him and other expenditure incurred on the candidate by the Government.

(iii) If the officer voluntarily withdraws from initial training or resigns during the probationary period, he/she shall be required to refund the cost of training in whole or in part, as may be determined by Govt.& all money received by him as pay & allowances from the Govt. together with the interest on the said money calculated at the rate in force for Govt loans.

(i) Due to COVID-19 pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein no INET (O) entrance examination for the ST – 22 course is being held for shortlisting candidate for SSB. The final merit list for induction will be prepared based only on SSB marks.

(ii) These vacancies are tentative and may be changed depending on availability of training slots.

(iii) ) Merchant Navy Personnel. Candidates having Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport Certificate of Competency (Foreign going) either as a Second Mate, Mate or Master and born between 02 Jan 1992 and 01 Jul 2002 (both dates inclusive) can apply for Executive Branch entry (General Service) as per stipulations stated at Para 2(a) above. 

(iv) NCC Candidates. NCC ‘C’ certificate holders will be given relaxation in cut off marks towards shortlisting for SSB subject to following conditions:- 

(a) Having NCC ;C; certificate of Naval/Army/Air Wing with minimum ‘B’ Grade.

(b) Not served less than two academic years in the Senior Division, Naval/Army/Air Wing of the NCC.

(c) ‘C’ certificate should not be dated prior to 30 Jun 18.

(d) The final selection will be subject to verification of the certificate by DGNCC/concerned NCC unit for its validity. Candidature of individual will be cancelled at any stage of selection/training/post commissioning, in case of false declaration, misinformation, concealing of information.

Selection Procedure :

(a) Shortlisting of application will be based on preference of entries and marks obtained by the candidates in the qualifying degree till fifth semester. 

(b) Candidates having Naval ‘C’ certificate issued by the National Cadet Corps will be provided relaxation of 5% in cut off marks for SSB shortlisting. However, at the time of extending the relaxation, the mandatory educational qualification of 60% marks in qualifying degree will be required at the time of shortlisting of candidates and at subsequent satge of selection. 

(c) No communication will be entertained in this regard. 

(d) SSB interviews will be tentatively scheduled from Jul 21 onwards at Bangalore/ Bhopal/ Visakhapatnam / Kolkata. Change of SSB Centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances. 

(e) Shortlisted candidates will be informed about their shortlisting for SSB interview through e-mail or SMS (provided by candidates in their application form). Candidates are advised not to change their e-mail/mobile number till selection process is over.

(f) SSB Procedure. For details regarding SSB procedure visit www.joinindiannavy.gov.in 

(g) Medical. SSB recommended candidates are required to undergo medical examination as applicable to their entry. Change of medical hospital/centre is not permissible under any circumstances. 

(h) Merit List. Merit list will be complied on the basis of SSB. Candidates recommended by SSB and declared medically fit will be appointed for training on the basis of entry-wise merit list and the number of vacancies in the respective entry.

3. Candidates are to register and fill application on Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in w.e.f 11 Jun 21. To save time during the application submission window, candidates can fill in their details and upload documents in advance.

4. Online (e-application). Whilst filling up the e-application, it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available to enable the following:-

(a) Correct filling up of personal particulars. Details are to be filled up as given in the Matriculation Certificate. 

(b) Fields such as e-mail address, mobile number are mandatory fields and need to be filled. 

(c) All relevant documents (preferably in original), marks sheets upto 5th& 7th semester for regular and integrated B.E. / B.Tech courses respectively, date of birth proof (as per 10th& 12th certificate), CGPA conversion formula for BE/B.Tech, NCC ‘C’ certificate issued by National Cadet Corps, Merchant Navy certificate issued by Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport and a recent passport size colour photograph should be scanned in original JPG/TIFF format, for attaching the same while filling up the application. 

(d) If any scanned document is not legible/readable for any reason the application will be rejected. Candidates are to take print out of application and carry it while appearing for SSB interview. 

(e) The application once submitted will be final and no request for amendments/changes will be entertained.
