1 .Post Name: Scientific Officer - World Vegetable Center
2. Requirements: M.Sc. in Agriculture/Horticulture with a good academic record and at least 3 years of experience, working in projects related to vegetables.
3. Responsibilities: Provide scientific rigor to all WorldVeg research work in support of its field activities Design and supervise the conduct of field trials and demonstrations across both states to promote good agricultural practices; Collect data, conduct analyses and maintain records of all project research activities; Produce periodic progress reports, technical papers and presentations needed by donors, project beneficiaries, WorldVeg management and team members; Organize and provide technical inputs into training programs for farmers and partner agencies; Supervise procurements and payments and assist in maintaining project accounts
4. Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi are required A thorough knowledge of experimental design and analysis is needed along with proficient use of MS Office and statistical software packages An energetic and enthusiastic personality with an urge to improve the lives of smallholder farmers is required, who should be a strong team player and willing to work in collaboration with several agencies
General :
This is a consolidated position for one year, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the institute’s continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
