2. Qualification: Passed 10+2 or Equivalent examination in any stream / subjects approved by Central/State Boards of education. Education Boards listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website as members, as on last date of submission of application, will only be permitted.
3. Pay & Allowances: During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP) will be 26,900/- per month including Dearness Allowances (DA) as applicable which, in subsequent year, may rise as per career progression of the individual. Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Composite Personnel Maintenance allowance (CPMA), Leave Ration allowance (LRA), Fly/PJI allowance (If applicable), HRA, Children Education Allowance etc are also admissible time to time as applicable.
4. Sports Achievments:
(i) Individual should have represented the country in Junior/Senior International meets in any of the above mentioned sports discipline. The current achievement would be given preference during selection trials.(ii) Individual should have attained the minimum standard of fifth place in the Junior National Championship, represented the State/Units in Senior National Championships or Inter University Championship in above mentioned sports discipline. The current achievement would be given preference during selection trials.
(iii) In team events, the individual should have represented state in Junior National Championship and National School Tournament conducted by School Games Federation of India (SGFI) in above mentioned sports discipline. The current achievement would be given preference during selection trials.
5. Training & Tenure: Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years. Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for trade training of specified duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit.
Age: Candidates should be born between 07 July 1997 to 27 June 2001 (both days inclusive). Upper age limit of date of enrolment is 21 years.
General Instructions:
1. The decision of selection committee/Air Force Sports Control Board in all matters relating to eligibility acceptance or rejection of application etc shall be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry or correspondence shall be entertained in this regard. Candidates must appear in the selection trials at New Delhi. REQUESTS FOR CHANGE OF VENUE FOR SELECTION TRIALS OR DATE OF SELECTION TRIAL SHALL NOT BE ENTERTAINED. However in case of non availability of sports infrastructure of a particular sports in Delhi. AFSCB reserve the right to hold trials outside Delhi. Intimation/call letters would be sent accordingly
2 .Candidates not reporting for the trial on due date and time shall not be accommodated on other dates/shifts. Incomplete application shall be rejected. (g) Candidates should be prepared to stay for the entire duration of the selection trials and medical examination in Delhi/place mentioned in call letter for which they have to make their own arrangement. No TA/DA shall be admissible. (h) Candidates who are less than 18 years of age on the date of trial should get the consent form, duly signed by their parents/guardian while coming for the selection trial. (The format of the consent form is given in the application format).
3 . Candidates found under the influence of performance enhancing drugs while participating in selection trials or any time before the date of enrolment, shall be disqualified immediately. (k) No candidate is permitted to grow hair and beard. Only Sikh candidates, whose religion prohibits the cutting off then hair or shaving off face will be permitted to grow hair/retain beard and moustache. Those Sikh candidates willing to retain the same as per laid down specification are to get their photographs with beard and moustache. In any case, no candidate is permitted to grow beard without moustache irrespective of religion or faith
4. Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/any other Government Organisations are also eligible subject to their discharge with No Adverse Entries. Such candidate has to declare at the time of applying that he is an Ex-employee of the organisation discharged from and produce original discharge certificate at the time of appearing for selection trials. In case of serving individuals, they must be in possession of NOC from their employer at the time of selection trials. If any candidate dose not discloses the fact of being employed or that of being an ex-employee, his candidature will be cancelled at any stage during the selection process or at any subsequent stage. Candidate discharged from Indian Air Force for any reason are not eligible to appear.

Candidates are to bring with them the following at the time of selection trail:- (a) Four copies of photographs (same as submitted with the application). (b) Original Matriculation passing certificate with four attested photo copies for verification of date of birth. (c) Original Matriculation mark sheet with four attested copies. (d) Original passing certificate and mark sheet of Intermediate/10 +2 with four attested photo copies. (e) Original certificates regarding sports achievement with four attested photo copies. (f) Character Certificate. (g) Sports Kit. (h) For candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/any other Government organisation. (i) Original and four self attested photo copies of discharge certificates (as issued from Indian Army/Indian Navy/ Government organisation). (ii) Original and four self attested photo copies of NOC from the employer for candidates presently serving in any Government organisations (if applicable). (iii) Original and four self attested photocopies of NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate (if applicable).
Selection Procedure:
Selection trials will be conducted in following phases:-Physical Fitness Test (PFT). (b) Only PFT pass candidates would be called for sports skill trials. (c) Candidates who qualify in PFT and selection trials for the game applied for will be called for medical fitness test conducted by the Air Force Medical team as IAF medical standards. (d) Those who are declared medically fit by the medical would be enrolled in IAF in Gp ‘Y’ trade as an outstanding sportsman.
How to Apply:
1. APPLICATION SHOULD BE ON A4 SIZE PAPER ONLY IN THE PRESCRIBED FORMAT. Non-standard application forms will be rejected. The following are to be sent along with the application:- (a) Three copies of unattested recent (not before 01 Feb 2018) passport size COLOUR PHOTOGRAPH (front portrait without headgear except for Sikhs), ONE of which is to be pasted on the application form and the other two are to be stapled to the top left corner of the application form. THE PHOTOGRAPH IS TO BE TAKEN WITH CANDIDATE HOLDING A BLACK SLATE IN FRONT OF HIS CHEST WITH HIS NAME, DATE OF BIRTH AND DATE OF PHOTOGRAPH CLEARLY WRITTEN ON IT WITH WHITE CHALK IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Photographs should be only on good quality “Photo Paper.” (b) Attested copies of Matriculation Certificate in support of Date of Birth. Attested copies of Marks Sheet & Certificate of Education Qualification along with attested copies of Sports achievement certificates. (c) One unstamped self addressed 24cm x 10 cm WHITE ENVELOPE of good quality, stapled/pinned with the application form.
2. Application duly completed in all respects must reach Air Force Sports Control Board by ordinary post within 21 days from date of publishing of advertisement in Employment News.
