Education Qualification :

North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC), Umiam is an autonomous body functioning under the Department of Space and North Eastern Council (NEC) to assist development process in North Eastern Region using space science and technology. It undertakes specific applications projects using remote sensing, GIS, satellite communication and conducting space science research. The Centre’s services are helpful in natural resources management, infrastructure planning, health, education, disaster management and Earth Observation Applications Mission. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the following position:-

4. Essential Qualification: 

a) i) M.Tech in RS & GIS (with specialization in Geo-sciences) in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI Grading of 6.5 on 10 scale or equivalent from a recognized university with pre-eligibility qualification of M.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semester) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent and B.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology (Major/Honours/Main subject). or

ii) M.Tech in Applied Geology/ Geological Technology in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on 10 scale or equivalent from a recognized University. /OR

iii) M.Tech (3 years) in Applied Geology/ Geological Technology in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI Grading of 6.5 on 10 scale or equivalent from a recognized university with pre-eligibility qualification of B.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology (Major/Honours/Main subject). /OR

iv) M.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent with pre-eligibility qualification of B.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology (Major/ Honours/ Main subject). /OR

v) M.Sc Tech in Geology in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semester) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent with preeligibility qualification of B.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology (Major/ Honours/ Main subject).

b) i) M.Tech in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Earth System Science or equivalent with First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI Grading of 6.5 on a 10 scale or equivalent from a recognized university. / WITH

ii) Preeligibility qualification of M.Sc./B.Tech in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Earth System Science/ Engineering Physics/ Physical Sciences or equivalent in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semester) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 scale or equivalent. /OR

iii) M.Sc in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Atmospheric Science or equivalent in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI Grading of 6.84 on 10 scale or equivalent from a recognized university with B.Sc. in Physics as a Major/Honours/Main subject. /OR

iv) Integrated M.Tech in Physics/ Applied Physics/ Atmospheric Science/ Earth System Science or equivalent in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks (average of all semester) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 scale or equivalent regard

5. Desirable Qualification and Experience: 

a) Experience in interpretation and analysis of Optical, Hyperspectral and Microwave Remote Sensing data for Geoscience related applications.

b) Experience in Atmospheric Modelling, Programming knowledge in FORTRAN / Matlab/ Python/ Linux. Experience in the field of geophysical parameter retrieval using satellite data.

Age:

The Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age limit is 35 years for all posts.

Important:

1. Opening date for submission of online recruitment application through nesac website is on 05.07.2021

2. Closing date for submission of online recruitment application through nesac website is 15.00 hrs on 31.07.2021

3. Date for determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the prescribed closing date for submisison of online recruitment application. The applicants are advised to fill in all their particulars in the online recruitment application carefully.

4. Date for the interview on which the shortlisted candidates are required to bring the printout of his/her online application alongwith other documents at nesac shall be intimated separately.

5. Candidate should upload the merged degree and marksheets in one pdf file for one particular qualification e.G. For m.Tech, degree & marksheets of all the semesters should be merged and uploaded and similarly for others also.

6. Case candidate has been awarded cgpa, he/she should obtain certificate from his/her institute/university issued by director/principal/registrar/dean (academics)/controller of examination/deputy registrar/ assistant registrar only clearly certifying the equivalent percentage of the cgpa/cpi obtained by the candidate, failing which equivalent percentage of the cgpa/cpi shall be calculated by the screening committee which shall be final and no queries will be entertained in this regard.

General Conditions/ Instructions:

1. The post is temporary but likely to continue.

2. Those who possess the required qualification as on 31.07.2021 only need to apply. Only passed candidates are eligible to apply. Students awaiting for final result need not apply.

3. The Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age limit is 35 years for all posts.

4. In addition, House Rent Allowance [HRA], Transport Allowance at the prescribed rates in force at the place of posting will be paid for those who are not availing Departmental Housing and Transport facility, respectively. The employees will be governed by the National Pension System (NPS). On employment in NESAC, other facilities are available such as medical facilities (Contributory Health Service Scheme) for self and dependents, limited housing facility for fresh entrants in lieu of HRA, Leave Travel Concession, etc. as per Central Government orders. 5. For the above Scientific/Technical Posts, the Organization has a progressive HRD Policy which provides an excellent growth potential for the right individual through its periodical merit based performance review system (called Merit Promotion Scheme) de-linked from our availability of vacancies at higher post by which the staff are being evaluated for the advancement of their career in the organization. The minimum qualifying service required to become eligible to be considered for review for promotion shall depend upon the essential qualification as per ISRO/DOS Norms.

6. The selected candidate shall be posted at NESAC, Umiam. The selected candidate is also liable to be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Department of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required. 7. Candidates will have to produce proof of the details furnished in their application submitted on-line as and when required.

8. Please note that the qualification prescribed above for the post advertised is the minimum requirement and the same does not automatically make the candidates eligible to be screened-in.

9. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

10. No interim correspondence will be entertained. In case of any clarification candidates may send their mail to applications@nesac.gov.in with clearly mentioning the name of the Post & Post Code and Advertisement number in the subject of the e-mail otherwise the query may not be responded and NESAC will not be responsible for not responding.

11. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.

12. Only candidates attending the Interview will be reimbursed to and fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from a place of residence indicated in the application form to the place of Interview.

13. Candidates called for Interview will have to produce all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in the application along with a set of self-attested photocopies. Candidates who are already employed under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies will also have to produce the 'No Objection Certificate', in original, at the time of Interview. In case the candidate fails to produce any of the above documents or if any information furnished in the application is found to be wrong or false, his/her candidature will be cancelled and TA will not be paid.

14. Corrigendum/Addendum, if any, will be published only in NESAC website www.nesac.gov.in. Candidates should regularly visit the NESAC website for latest updates on the status of his/her application.

15. Selected candidates may have to join the post immediately on being found fit by appropriate Medical Authority.

Selection Procedure :

After satisfying the minimum essential qualification, screening of the applications will be done by a duly constituted Screening Committee based on the following criteria:

1. 80% weightage will be given to the marks obtained in the Essential Qualification only and marks obtained in the pre eligibility qualification will not be considered for screening purpose.

2. 20% weightage will be given to the work experience in the relevant field upto 2 years. Minimum experience of 6 months only will be considered and any experience less than 06 months shall be ignored. Rounding-off of experience is not allowed. 05 marks shall be given for completed 06 months of relevant experience and proportionate marks shall be given for any period above 06 months upto 12 months (only completed months of experience will be considered). Full marks i.e. 20 shall be given for the relevant experience of completed 2 years or more. Ph.D experience will also be considered subject to its relevancy to the post.

3. Only post qualification experience will be considered. Experience Certificate/No Objection Certificate should clearly show the date of joining & date of relieving. Name, Designation and nature of work performed during the tenure to be clearly mentioned in the Experience Certificate, failing which experience will not be considered for screening purpose.

4. As the screening process will be based on percentage of marks, candidates with CGPA/CPI need to convert into percentage certified by appropriate authority viz. Director/ Principal/ Registrar/ Dean (Academics)/ Deputy Registrar/ Assistant Registrar/ Controller of Examination only, uploaded through online only will be considered.

a) If any Candidate provides proof from his/her University/Institution that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, then equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. Candidate who fails to produce the above document then his/her candidature will be cancelled and no communication will be entertained in this regard.

5. Final decision on the Screening will be taken by the Screening Committee. Only the screened-in/shortlisted candidates will be called for interview before the Selection Committee. Communication shall be sent only to the screened-in/shortlisted candidates. NESAC will not entertain any correspondence on the issue of short-listing of candidates. The call letters for the interview to the short-listed candidates will be uploaded on the NESAC Official Website or will be communicated by email.

a) Candidates are advised to check their email and visit the NESAC Website from time to time. No communication shall be made to the candidates who are not screened-in to appear for the interview. The screened-in candidates are shortlisted based on the information provided by them, if at any point of time it is found that the candidate is not eligible then his/her candidature will be cancelled and the onus of such cancellation will be upon the candidate himself/herself.

6. The final selection will be based only on the performance of candidates in the interview.

How to Apply :

1. The closing date for submission of online recruitment application through NESAC website for the 02 (two) posts of Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ is extended further till 1500 hrs on 31.08.2021 (Tuesday).

2. The candidates registered under National Career Services (NCS) portal and fulfilling the eligibility conditions may visit NESAC Website and follow the application procedure as stated. Upon registration, applicants will be provided with an on-line Registration Number, which should be carefully preserved for future reference. E-mail ID of the applicant has to be given in the application compulsorily.

3. The on-line application has to be invariably followed-up with a ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the employer concerned, by those already in employment (permanent/ temporary) under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies.
