Mumbai Port Trust 2021 Jobs Recruitment Notification. MPT inviting applications for the positions of VTS/Signal Assistant. Interested and Eligible candidates can apply for the positions.

VTS/Signal Assistant - 12 Posts

Job Location - Mumbai

Education Qualification :

Invites applications from retired employees from Indian Navy/Coast Guard for the following post on contract basis :

1. Post Name: VTS/Signal Assistant (VSA) - Total 12 posts on contract basis.

2. Educational Qualification and Experience :

Essential: (i) Radar Plotter Grade-1 Certificate holder from Indian Navy or Coastguard (Retired). (ii) Proficiency in Computers and computer language. (iii) One year experience on sailing ship as Radar Plotter.

3. Desirable Previous VTS or Radar Plotter/port operations experience will be preferred.

4. Work profile : Candidate will be required to attend all the work related to VTS Operator / Data Entry / Shipping Assistant and any other work as directed by the Dy. Conservator.

Age:

40-55 years on the last date for submission of application.

General

(i) Applications may be submitted in the prescribed form which may be downloaded.

(ii) Applicants already in service of Government/ Semi-Government Organisations/ Public Sector Undertakings/ Autonomous Bodies must apply through proper channel.

(iii) Applicants may attach self certified copies of certificates/documents in support of essential qualifications with their application.

Terms and Conditions:

(i) Duration of contract : The contract shall be initially for a period of one year from the date of engagement, extendable by one year at a time, at the discretion of MbPT.

(ii) Medical fitness from Port Trust Hospital is compulsory before joining.

(iii) Selected candidate shall be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs.70,000/- (per month) or (Last pay drawn - basic pension + DA), whichever is less. No other allowances or benefits would be admissible.

(iv) Annual increment @Rs.1000 per annum will be paid during the contract period.

(v) Duty Hours : Working pattern will be 24 hours on / off or 12 hours on/ off with weekly off on staggered basis. The weekly day of rest may be changed with prior intimation.

vi) Leave entitlement - Casual leave of twelve days in a year. For any absence in excess of 12 days, pro-rata deduction will be made from the remuneration.

(vii) If desired, Mumbai Port Trust accommodation as admissible will be provided, as per availability and on recovery of rent at 25 times the prescribed licence fee alongwith the electricity charges and water charges.

(viii) No medical facilities would be available to the candidate and his family.

(ix) The contract can be terminated by giving one month notice in writing from either side. If the candidate leaves without notice or acceptance of notice of termination, the amount due to him, consolidated remuneration payable to the extent of notice period will be forfeited. However, the engagement is terminable on 24 hour notice, for unsatisfactory performance and for any act that is considered detrimental to the interest of the Port.

(x) On completion of contract and if there is no further renewal then accommodation allotted to the candidate is to be vacated within one month.

(xi) The candidate shall be responsible for the charge and care of the Mumbai Port Trust goods, stores and other properties that may be entrusted to him/her and will be accountable for the same.
