Qualification:
Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science or Documentation Science or equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale where grading system is applicable). 2/ Consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization in library. 3/ In addition to fulfilling the above mentioned qualifications, the candidate must have passed the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar examination recognized by the University like SLET/SET or those recognized by the University Grants Commission (MPhil/Ph.D.) In accordance with the Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and amendments made thereto from time to time, as the case may be, Ph.D. degree has been awarded. Provided that prior to 11th July, 2009 the Ph.D. Candidates registered for the degree of Ph.D. shall be governed by the provisions of the existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the institutions awarding such degree and such Ph.D. Subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions by the candidates momentary NET/SLET/SET requirements will be exempted for recruitment and appointment to the posts of Assistant Professor or equivalent in Universities/Colleges/Institutions. a) The degree of Ph.D. has been awarded to the candidate only through regular mode. b) PhD dissertation evaluated by at least two external examiners Ho. c) An open viva-voce examination is conducted for the candidate for Ph.D. d) The candidate should have published two research papers from his/her PhD work, at least one of which has been published in a refereed journal. e) The candidate has attended conferences/symposia sponsored/funded/aided by University Grants Commission/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agency Have presented at least two papers based on their PhD work
