Qualification Details:
Applications in the prescribed proforma are invited from eligible candidates for filling up of two posts of Consultants to serve as faculty at the Extension and Training (ET) Division, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad
1. QualificationPhD in Nutrition Nutritnal Biochernistry with than 30 years of research and teaching experience in the area Of Nutritional biochemistry, endocrimlogy and metabolism as evidenced from the of cvojectS handled, PhDs produced and publications in National and International journals Of repute and more than 5 years' experience in teaching. or Essentila: M.Sc With more than 5 years' experience in teaching in Nutrition, Nutritional Biochemistry. Desirable: 5 years of Research experience in area of & N tritional Biochemistry
2. Period of Consultancy: Initially one year on full time contract basis. The contract could be extended further depending on assessment of performance and mutual willingness. The contract can be terminated by either side at any time, by giving one month's notice. The Government can terminate the contract immediately, by paying one month's agreed remuneration in lieu of the notice period.
3. Nature of Duties:
a. The selected Consultants will be required to work as Faculty at the Extension and Training Division of the Institute which has been running a two year M.Sc (Applied Nutrition) course (affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal) a a three months PG certificate course in Nutrition, the two flagship training programmes offered by NIN for the last few decades.
b. Their duties will entail regular teaching of classical nutritional biochemistry, including recent developments in the areas of Nutrient Deficiency of Disorders, Obesity, Diabetes and other Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) etc., including curriculum development from time to time keeping in view the development in Nutrition Science. This exercise requires services of faculty with wide ranging experience and expertise in several areas of Nutrition and Biochemistry relevant to classical nutrition in general and the country's nutritional needs in particular. In this respect, a skilled, dedicated and designated staff with updated knowledge is required.
c. Apart from running the day-to-day activities of the M.Sc(Applied Nutrition) course, he/she will be responsible for imparting need-based training to the students to enable them to be more competitive in research and academia.
