A. Discipline/Area
a. Qualification : M. E./M. Tech in Mining Engineering
b. Desirable : Experience in mine ventilation; Underground mining methods; coal gasification
c. Job Description : R&D in the field of Numerical modeling; underground mining methods; mine ventilation studies.
B. Chemical Engineering
a. Qualification : M. E./M. Tech in Chemical Engineering
b. Desirable : Experience in chemical process development such as coal to value added products. Chemical synthesis.
c. Job Description : R&D in the field of catalyst development for Methanol/Olefin synthesis. Micro/pilot scale reactors for catalytic process development
C. Chemistry
a. Qualification : Ph. D. submitted in Chemistry/ Applied Chemistry
b. Desirable : Experience in area of catalyst development; chemical synthesis; experience in handling sophisticated instrument.
c. Job Description : R&D in the field of chemical synthesis; Operation of sophisticated equipment like FTIR, ICPMS, XRF, XRD, AAS, SEM,etc.
D. Biotechnology
a. Qualification : Ph. D. submitted in Biotechnology
b. Desirable : Experience in application of environmental biotechnology, plant biotechnology.
c. Job Description : R&D in the field of bio remediation; nutrition in bacteria and nitrogen fixation; environmental biotechnology; plant biotechnology.
E. Geology
a. Qualification : Ph. D. submitted in Geology/Applied Geology
b. Desirable : Experience in engineering geology; Structural geology; modelling and formation evaluation

Age: 32-37 Years

Application Fee:
Candidates are required to pay an Application Fee (Non-refundable) of Rs.100/-only (Rupees One Hundred only).,The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Women/CSIR Permanent Employees/Abroad Candidates category are exempted from submission of application fee.

Note:
a. The applicant must be a citizen of India.
b. All applicants must fulfill the essential requirements of the post and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement as on the last date of receipt of the applications. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess at least the essential qualifications laid down for various posts as on the last date of receipt of the applications. No enquiry asking for advice as to eligibility will be entertained.
c. The application should be accompanied by self attested copies of the relevant educational qualification, experience. The prescribed qualifications should have been obtained through recognized Universities / Institutions. etc. Incomplete applications/applications received or not accompanied with the required certificates / documents are liable to be rejected.
d. The candidates, applying for the post of Scientist with the qualifications of Ph. D submitted, are advised to enclose authentic documentary proof indicating the date of submission of thesis.
e. Ph.D. certificate should clearly indicate the date of award of Ph.D. degree. Completion of Ph. D degree will be reckoned from the date of issue of provisional certificate/notification.

General Instructions:
a. These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (T.A) etc. as admissible to the central government employees and as made applicable to CSIR. Council employees are also eligible for accommodation of their entitled type as per CSIR allotment rules depending on availability in which case HRA will not be admissible.
b. In addition to the emoluments indicated against each category of posts, benefits such as applicability of New Pension Scheme 2004, reimbursements of Medical Expenses, Leave Travel Concession, Conveyance advance and House Building Advance are available as per CSIR rules.
c. Scientists in CSIR are also permitted to undertake consultancy and sponsored R&D project activity. These activities give them scope to earn consultancy fee and honorarium as per CSIR guidelines governing these activities. Opportunities also arise for foreign deputations for training/presentation of papers/specific assignments etc.
d. CSIR provides excellent opportunities to deserving candidates for career advancement under Assessment Promotion scheme for Scientists
e. Deserving candidates may be considered for advance increment as per CSIR Rules.

Selection Process:
a. Mere fulfilment of educational qualifications and experience does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview. The duly constituted Screening Committee will adopt its own criteria for short-listing the candidates. The candidate should therefore, mention in the application all the qualifications and experiences in the relevant area over and above the minimum prescribed qualification supported with documents. Submission/Completion of Ph.D. will be reckoned from the date of issue of provisional certificate/notification.
b. In case a candidate is staying abroad, his/her candidature may be considered in absentia by the Selection Committee on his/her written request.

How to Apply:
1. Eligible candidates may visit CIMFR Website http://cimfr.nic.in/vacancies.html and download the Application Form. Application in the prescribed format may be submitted on A4 size thick/Xerox paper.
2. In case of University/Institute awarding CGPA/SGPA/OGPA grades etc. candidates are requested to convert the same into percentage based on the formula as per guidelines of the University/Institute. Candidates are required to give the conversion formula, as per their university/institute guidelines
3. The candidates must produce his/her ORIGINAL Graduation & Post-Graduation Mark Sheet and Provisional Pass Certificate, age and/or experience and caste/community certificate etc at the time of interview for verification. The candidates are requested to ensure while filling up the Application Form that any discrepancy found between the information given in the Application and as evident in original documents will make the candidate ineligible for appearing in interview and subsequent appointment.
4.
