Qualification Details:
18 posts of Deputy Controller of Mines in pay Level 12 (Rs. 78800-209200) is vacant in Indian Bureau of Mines under the Ministry of Mines which is to be filled up by deputation (including short term contract).

3. Duties in brief of Deputy Controller of Mines in IBM are as under:
i. Inspection of Mines for systematic developnent, conservation of minerals and protection of mines environment under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and To complaints for violations of Mines and Minerals rules made there under. (Development & Regulation) Act and rules made there under.

ii. To inspect and to collect the samples To advise the mine owners on the adoption of under Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. appropriate technology tor prospecting and mining; to advise on beneficiation and utilisation of submarginal grade ore and rejects; protection of environment in mining areas.

iii. To undertake site inspections in connection 'With processing of mining plan/scheme of mining.

iv. To approve the scheme of mining in respect of category B mines as and when empowered.

v. To monitor the mining activities in accordance with the approved mining plan/scheme of mining. To process stoping proposals for underground mines.

vi. Technical data processing and retrieval as and when required. work as officer incharge and Head of Office as and when assigned. Any other duties that may be assigned by the superior officers

4. (A) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or (ii) with 5 years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in level-11 in the pay matrix (Rs.67700-208700), and.

(B) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience B) (a) Bachelor of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised University or institution ;
(b) Ten years experience in core Mining activity in:- (i) Managerial position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior trainee engineer; or
(ii) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals, in level-10 in the pay matrix (Rs.56100-177500) or above in pay matrix or

(C) (i) Master of Engineering or Technology in Mining Engineering from a recognised University or institution;
(ii) Eight years experience in core Mining activity in:- (a) Managerial position in Metalliferous (Non-coal) mines which includes the period as graduate or management or junior trainee engineer; or
(b) Government Department dealing with mines and minerals, in level-10 in the pay matrix (Rs.56100-1 77500) or above.

Age:
The Maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Note:
Note 1. The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, the deputationists shall not be eligible tar consideration for appointment by promotion.

Note 2. The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years.

Note 3. The Maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall be not exceeding fifty six years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
