Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu is functioning under Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. RGNIYD functions as a vital resource centre with its multi-faceted functions of offering academic programmes at Post Graduate level encompassing various dimensions of Youth Development, engaging in seminal research in the vital areas of Youth Development and coordinating Training Programmes for state agencies and the officials of youth organizations, besides the extension and outreach initiatives in rural, urban as well as tribal areas. RGNIYD serves as a youth observatory and depository in the country thereby embarking on youth surveillance on youth-related issues. It has a wide network with various organizations working for the welfare and development of young people and serves as a mentor.

4. Desirable Qualification: Ph.D, 1) UGC NET with Ph.D in Social Work 2) Minimum 02 years of teaching experience at PG Level is required

5. Eligibility: A). I. Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) in a relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. II. Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2018 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be. Provided further, candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances / Bye- laws / Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET subject to fulfilment of the following conditions :- a) Ph.D. degree of the candidate was awarded in regular mode only; b) Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners; c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted; d) Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a referred journal; e) Candidate has made at least two presentations in conference/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D work. (a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Registrar/ Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University/Institution concerned. III. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. OR B. Ph.D degree from a university/institution with a ranking in top 500 in the World University ranking (at any time) by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the Times Higher Education (THE) and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Application Fee: 1) Application fee : Rs.300/- for SC / ST and Rs.500/- for Others (UR / OBC) categories. Payment can be made through online only (Link available in the Institute website). Fees once paid shall not be refunded / adjusted under any circumstances.

General Instructions / Information to Candidates:
1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Interested candidates should apply only through online.

3. The applicant is requested not to send the hard copy of application to the institute.

4. The hard copy of application along with the self‐attested copy of certificates should be submitted only by the shortlisted candidates at the time of interview for verification failing which the candidate will not be allowed to attend the interview.

5. Candidates who desire to apply shall need to login RGNIYD website (www.rgniyd.gov.in) and follow the instructions provided therein.

6. Candidates who desire to apply for more than one specialization shall need to submit separate online application.

7. The prescribed essential qualification / experience indicated are a bare minimum and mere possession of these will not entitle the candidates to be called for interview. RGNIYD may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualification, experience in the relevant field and experience higher than that of the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. The candidates should, therefore, furnish the details of all the qualifications and experience possessed in the relevant field, over and above the minimum qualifications prescribed along with documentary evidence.

Other terms and conditions:
1. Mere fulfilment of minimum qualification does not entitle any candidate for interview.

2. Short-listing/screening criteria may be set higher than the minimum advertised.

3. Selected candidates will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs.52,000/- per month (Rupees fifty two thousand only). He / she will not be entitled to any other allowances.

4. The selected candidates will be engaged on purely temporary basis for a period of 06 months. This is subject to extension / curtailment depending upon the requirements. Under any circumstances, candidate cannot claim any right for permanent position / extension of contract.

5. Candidates may note that these contract positions are basically to meet the immediate academic requirement of the Institute and at no point, selection will make them eligible for regular interviews to be conducted in future.

6. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, Women & minority community are encouraged to apply.

7. Other terms and conditions of their engagement will be governed by the norms as prescribed by the Statutes / Ordinance of RGNIYD from time to time. 8. Applications received through email or which are incomplete / not in the prescribed format / without self-attested copies of relevant documents will not be considered.

9. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding conduct of and result of interview, the reasons for not being called for interview or for not being selected, etc.

10. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be informed through email as mentioned in the application form.

11. Applicants are advised to submit the online application well in advance without waiting till last date.

12. RGNIYD reserves the right to summarily reject any application which is incomplete in any respect or does not have one or more of the prescribed enclosures.

13. Candidates are requested to visit institute website www.rgniyd.gov.in periodically for any updates regarding recruitment process.

14. The interview will be held in Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Chennai to Bangalore Highway, Sriperumbudur – 602 105, Tamil Nadu. Change of venue, if any, for interview will be intimated later.

15. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview.

16. No accommodation will be provided in the Institute campus.

17. Few of the selected candidates may be requested to act as Assistant Warden for Boys / Girls Hostel. Such candidates will be provided rent-free accommodation in the Hostels.

18. Canvasing in any form / brining in any influence (political or otherwise) will be treated as a disqualification for the post. Interim enquiries will not be entertained. If it is found at any stage that any information given in the application is incorrect / false, the candidature / appointment is liable to be cancelled / terminated.
