ZSI Jobs Recruitment Notification 2020.Zoological Survey of India inviting applications for the positions of Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow.Interested and Eligible candidates can apply for the positions.

Job Location - Kolkata

Qualification Details:

Applications are invited from interested and eligible candidates for Junior Research Fellows(Jrfs) And Senior Research Fellows (SRFs) in Zoological Survey of India in HQ, Kolkata and regional centres. The position is for a period of three years and purely on temporary basis and will be terminated on completion of the project. On Completion of two years, the JRF will be upgraded to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) based on satisfactory performance and assessment through Expert Committee.

1. Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow

2. Educational Qualification: Master degree in Zoology / Life Sciences with Zoology as a major subject in undergraduate course from a recognised University with minimum 55% marks

3. Desirable Qualification: Research experience in taxonomy, systematics, zoology or allied subject, field survey experience in wildlife, wildlife photography, knowledge of Computer and basic field data collection, scuba diving and snorkelling, mountaineering etc.

4. Remuneration: Rs. 12,000/- + Admissible HRA (As per rules)

5. No. of Posts: 20 (Twenty) (The number of posts may vary as per availability of suitable candidates)

6. Name of the Post: Senior Research Fellow

7. Educational Qualification: Master degree in Zoology / Life Sciences with Zoology as a major subject in undergraduate course from a recognised University with minimum 55% marks. Atleast one publication in SCI Journal and should have completed at least two years of post M.Sc. research experience

8. Desirable Qualification: Research experience in taxonomy, systematics, zoology or allied subject, field survey experience in wildlife, wildlife photography, knowledge of Computer and basic field data collection, scuba diving and snorkelling, mountaineering etc

9. Remuneration: Rs. 14,000/- + Admissible HRA (As per rules)

Age: JRF: Age shall not be more than 28 years as on last date of application. SRF: The upper age limit for applying for SRF is 32 years.

General Instructions:

1. Age Limit:

(i) JRF: Age shall not be more than 28 years as onlast date of application.

(ii) SRF: The upper age limit for applying for SRF is 32 years.Upper age limit is relaxed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-Non Creamy Layer(NCL)/Women/ Physically Challenged applicants as per Govt. of India rules.

2. Candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of their qualification and experience. Mere possession of qualification and experience may notentertain a candidate called for interview or selection.Although, there is indication for number of vacancy, the Director, ZSI reserve the rights for selection of any number of candidates.

3. Short listed candidates will be informed through email and or speed post for appearing before an interview committee. A candidate called for interview will be paid Second Class Railway fares by the shortest route from his/her place of permanent residence to the place of interview and back. However, ZSI will not provide any accommodation for candidates appearing for the interview.

4. At the time of the verification of original documents (even after selection), if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such applicant will not be considered for selection and due action will be implemented.

5. Candidate selected will be liable to posted anywhere in the country, including field sites and HQ, regional centres of ZSI, will have to join immediately after their selection.

6. The application form can be downloaded from the Zoological Survey of India website http://zsi.gov.in. Incomplete application and application without supporting documents will be rejected and or not considered. While filling the application, the candidate to ensure the correct email ID and Mobile Number as further communication to the candidates by email and mobile only.

Selection Procedure :

How to Apply :

1. Candidates should submit the duly filled-in applications with attested true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, proof for date of birth etc., along with copies of mark sheets of all examinations and ‘No Objection Certificate’ from present employer (if employed) to The Director, Zoological Survey of India, M-Block, New Alipore, Kolkata by Speed Post/Registered Post super scribed on the top of the envelope Application for the post of JRF/SRF within one month from date of publication of the advertisement. The last date of receipt of application from candidates in northeastern states, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir,Lahaul and Spiti, Pangi and Chamba, Andaman Nicobar Island and Lakshadweep will be 40 days from the date of advertisement.
