Qualification Details:

Applications are invited through ONLINE for General Recruitment to 68 posts of Civil Judge (Junior Division) in Andhra Pradesh State Judicial Service comprising of 55 vacancies to be filled under Direct Recruitment, and 13 vacancies to be filled under Recruitment by Transfer. The recruitment process shall be governed by Andhra Pradesh State Judicial (Service & Cadre) Rules, 2007. The applications will be available on the official website of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh "http//hc.ap.nic.in" from 03.12.2020 on-wards.

1. Name of the Post: Civil Judge (Junior Division)

2. No of Post: 68 posts

3. Salary: As per the revised pay scales which came into effect from 1.1.2006, the Scale of Pay of the post of Civil Judge (Junior Division) is Rs.27,700/- to Rs.44,770/-.

4. Qualification: Only those candidates who possess the qualifications prescribed under the Andhra Pradesh State Judicial (Service & Cadre) Rules, 2007 which are mentioned below, shall be eligible to apply.

Age: An applicant applying under Direct Recruitment shall not have complete the age of 35 years as on first day of the month (as on 01.12.2020) in which the notification inviting applications for such appointment is published in the news papers i.e. 03.12.2020.

Application Fee:
The applicants who belong to OC/BC categories have to pay an amount of Rs. 800/- (Rupees eight hundred only) towards Online Application processing and Examination fee, whereas the applicants belonging to SC/ST categories have to pay Rs.400/- (Rupees four hundred only) towards Online Application processing and Examination fee.

Selection Procedure :
1. For the purpose of short-listing the candidates, the High Court will conduct Screening Test (Computer Based Test) for 100 marks comprising of 100 multiple choice objective type Questions. The duration of examination will be two (2) hours. The Venue and Time will be mentioned in the Ticket to be downloaded by the applicant at the appropriate time. The candidates who secure 40% and above marks in the Hall screening test will be short-listed in the ratio of 1:10 of the available vacancies, for written examination.

2. The marks obtained in the screening test shall not be added to the marks obtained in the written examination and they shall not be counted for determining final order of merit of the candidates, as the screening test is conducted for the purpose of short listing the candidates.

3. Written Examination consisting of the following three (3) papers will be held. (The object of written examination is to test the academic knowledge of the candidates.)

I) Civil Laws,

II) Criminal Laws and

III) English Translation test for 25 marks and Essay Writing test for 75 marks on legal subject. (Translation Test is from English to Telugu and Telugu to English only).

Each paper will carry 100 marks. The duration of each paper is three (3) hours.

a) Direct Recruitment: The candidates applying under Direct Recruitment in respect of the persons belong to OC category must secure not less than 55% of marks in each paper and not less than 60% of marks in aggregate, in the written examination to become eligible for Viva-Voce. And, the candidates belonging to Backward Class category must secure not less than 50% marks in each paper and not less than 55% of marks in aggregate in the written examination. And, the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories must secure not less than 45% marks in each paper and not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in the written examination.

b) Recruitment by Transfer: The candidates belonging to OC and BC categories applying under Recruitment by Transfer must secure not less than 55% marks in each paper and not less than 60% marks in aggregate in the written examination to become eligible for Viva-Voce. And, the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories applying under Recruitment by Transfer must secure not less than 45% marks in each paper and not less than 50% marks in aggregate in the written examination.

c) Viva-Voice: Viva-Voice Test will carry 50 marks. Any candidate who remains absent for the Viva-Voce will be deemed to have been disqualified for selection. (The object of Viva-Voce is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, knowledge of law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation, power of communication and intellectual depth of the candidate.)

d) Merit List: After result of written examination is announced, qualified candidates in the ratio of 1:3 of the available vacancies in the respective categories shall be called for Viva Voce. Provided that if there are more than one candidate who have secured identical cut off marks, all such candidates shall be called upon to appear for Viva-Voce for maintaining the ratio of 1:3. No TA and DA will be paid to any of the candidates appearing for Screening Test/Written Examination/Viva Voce.

How to Apply :
The Last date for submission of Online Application upto 11.59 p.m. on 02.01.2021. The date and venue of the examination will be intimated later. The Hand written/ Typed/Photo copy/Printed Application Form will not be entertained either directly or by Post or by Courier or in person.
