Education Qualification :

Online applications are invited from unmarried male candidates who fulfill the conditions regarding the nationality as laid down by the Government of India for musician sailors in the Oct 2021 batch for a total of 33 vacancies, approximately 300 candidates will be called for Music screening test. A widower or a person who has divorced his wife shall not be treated as an unmarried male for the purpose of this regulation.

2. Educational Qualification. Candidate must have passed Matriculation Examination from the Boards of School Education recognised by Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

3. Musical Ability. The candidate should have proficiency in Aural Aptitude for music with accuracy in Tempo, Pitch and singing one complete song. Should also have actual practical skill on any instrument of Indian or foreign origin with proficiency in tuning of instrument, matching unknown notes with instrument, prepared piece, sight reading of Indian Classical/ Tabulature/ Staff Notation, performance of Scale/ Raaga/ Taala and basic theory of Indian or International music.

4. Type of Instruments on which Proficiency Required. The candidates would be required to perform with expertise on one or more instruments such as Keyboard/ String/ Wind instruments or any other instrument of Indian or Foreign origin. Candidates performing on Indefinite Pitch Instruments such as Jazz Drums set, Bass Drum, Snare Drums, Side Drums, Cymbals, Non Chromatic instruments such as Bugle & monotone instruments used to produce only one note or drone will not be eligible for recruitment.

5. Musical Experience Certificate.

(a) Candidates performing Hindustani or Carnatic Classical music on Wind Instruments will require a musical experience certificate from any recognized musical Institute or organization of repute.

(b) A certificate of minimum Initial Grade from International Boards such as Trinity College of Music, London or Royal School of Music, London will be mandatory for candidates performing western notation or western music on Wind Instruments.

(c) Other candidates will be required to submit certificates of participation/ awards presented at various events.

6. Pay & Allowances. During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (₹ 21,700- ₹69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP @ ₹ 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable).

Candidates should be born between 01 Oct 1996 to 30 Sep 2004 (Both dates inclusive). No age relaxation is permissible.

Instructions

1. The applications are to be filled online on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in and all required documents in original are to be scanned and uploaded. Application received through speed post/registered post or couriers will be rejected. The selection procedure is as follows:

(a) The ‘Online’ applications alongwith the required certificates will be examined and validated

(b) Call up Letters cum Admit Cards (CLACs) for eligible candidates indicating date, time and place for Music Screening Test will be uploaded on website tentatively by September 2021. The candidate would be required to download CLACs from the official website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. No Call up Letter cum Admit Cards (CLACs) will be sent by post.

(c) All original music certificates, mark sheets and Domicile certificate (which have been uploaded whilst filling online application) are to be produced at the time of Music Screening Test. If the details provided in ‘online application’ are not matching with original documents, the candidature will be cancelled.

(d) The Music selection will be tentatively conducted in September/October 2021. Candidates will arrive and depart on same day.

(e) Candidates declared Permanent/ Temporary Medically Unfit in the enrolment medical could avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of 21 days. Permanent Medically unfit in the recruitment medical can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40/- by Military Receivable Order (MRO) on Government Treasury within 21 days. Medical fitness certificate other than that of the specialist opinion in a Military Hospital will not be considered. No further review/ appeal is permissible if declared unfit in the specialist review.

(f) A merit list will be prepared from all the candidates who qualify in Music Screening Board in all respects and PFT depending upon vacancies. The Merit list will be available on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.

(g) All select list candidates will have to undergo Enrolment Medical Examination at INS Chilka, Odisha. Candidates declared Temporary/ Permanent unfit candidates at Enrolment Medical Examination will be given an option for Appeal Medical Examination at INHS Nivarini, Chilka and INHS Kalyani, Visakhapatnam only within a maximum period of 21 days. This Appeal Medical Examination shall be treated as final.

(h) All candidates appearing for Music Screening Board at INS Kunjali, Mumbai are required to handover their Police Verification Form. The candidates will be required to getting their antecedents verified on Police Verification form / Online police verification form from the Superintendent of Police of their respective jurisdiction. Only those candidates, who submit the Police verification form duly verified by the concerned authorities, will be enrolled. Candidates without the verified police verification reports will not be eligible for enrolment.

(j) The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only. Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claim admission in the next batch. These candidates will have to undergo the selection procedure afresh provided that they meet the eligibility criteria for the fresh batch.

(k) No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment / enrolment after a period of six months.

Selection Procedure :

1. Due to COVID–19 Pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein approximately 300 candidates will be called up for Music Test and PFT. Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Music Screening Board and subject to clearing PFT at Kunjali and Enrolment Medicals examination at Chilka.

2. Shortlisting of candidates for Music Test will be undertaken on the basis of music certificates attached. Order of precedence will be as follows: - (a) Degree in music (b) Diploma in music (c) Other graded certificates (d) Certificates of Competitions (e) Awards (f) Participation (g) Experience (h) Music as a subject/ paper in matriculation is not valid.

(a) The Music Screening Board will be conducted on the date and slot given in the call up letter. Verification of age, education qualification, music certificates and musical ability along with physical fitness of the candidate will be assessed during Music Screening Board.

(b) Those who qualify the Music Screening Board will be required to undergo Enrolment Medical Examination tentatively scheduled in the month of October 2021.

How to Apply :

1. For this entry, the candidates can apply ONLINE ONLY on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in from 02 Aug 21 to 06 Aug 21. The procedure is as follows:-

(a) Before filling online application, keep music certificate, matric pass certificate & 10th Mark sheet ready for reference. Update your Aadhaar details if you wish to use the simplified application process.

(b) Register yourself on www.joinindiannavy.gov.in with your E-mail ID, if not registered already. The Applicants must ensure that while filling their Application Form, they are providing their valid and active e-mail IDs and mobile numbers as the Navy may use electronic mode of communication while contacting them at any stages

(c) ‘Log–in’ with the registered E-mail ID and Click on “Current Opportunities”.

(d) Click on “Apply” button.

(e) Fill up the Form completely. Before clicking the ‘Submit’ button make sure all the details are correct and all required documents are scanned in original and uploaded.

(f) Examination Centre. Mumbai.

(g) Online applications will be further scrutinised for eligibility and may be rejected if found noteligible in any respect.
