Education Qualification :

NESAC proposes to recruit the following positions on temporary project basis for the following project, through walk-in-interview scheduled during 27th June 2022 to 05th July 2022 at NESAC, Umiam at 08:30 AM (reporting time). Candidates may require to stay for interview for the next day also, at their own expenses.

3. Essential Qualifications: 

a) First Class M.Sc./M.Tech in Geography/ Applied Geography & Geo-informatics/ Remote Sensing and GIS/ Rural planning/ Urban planning or equivalent with valid NET/GATE/N-JET in the relevant discipline.

b) First Class M.Sc. or M.Tech in Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Spatial Information Science/ Environmental Science/ Geology/ Forestry or equivalent with valid NET/GATE/N-JET in the relevant discipline.

c) First Class M.Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology and B.Sc. with Geology as a subject with valid NET/GATE in the relevant discipline or N-JET in Geology specialization.

d) First Class in M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology/ Geoinformatics/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Forestry/ Civil/ or equivalent from recognised university with valid NET/GATE/NJET in the relevant discipline.

e) First Class M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering (in water resources related specialization)/ Agriculture Engineering (in water resources related specialization)/ Water Resources Engineering or equivalent/ Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent with dissertation in Water Resources Engineering or equivalent with valid NET/GATE/NJET in the relevant discipline. OR First Class M.Sc. in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Applied Geology/ Geology/ Environmental Science or equivalent with specialization or dissertation in Water Resources related areas with valid NET/GATE in the relevant discipline or N-JET in RS & GIS specialization.

f) First Class M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering (in water resources related specialization)/ Agriculture Engineering (in water resources related specialization)/ Water Resources Engineering or equivalent/ Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent with valid NET/GATE/N-JET in the relevant discipline. OR First Class M.Sc. in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Applied Geology/ Geology/ Environmental Science/ or equivalent with NET/GATE in the relevant discipline or N-JET in RS & GIS specialization.

g) First Class M.Sc. in Forestry/ Forest Science/ Environmental Science/ Ecology & Environmental Science/ Environment Management/ Life Science/ Agriculture/ Forestry & Biodiversity/ Botany/ Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics or equivalent, with valid NET/GATE/NJET in the relevant discipline. OR First Class M.Tech in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geoinformatics/ Spatial information or equivalent with valid NET/GATE/N-JET in the relevant discipline.

h) First Class M.Sc. in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Sericulture/ Forestry/ Botany/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Geology/ Applied Geology/ Geography/ Physics with valid NET/GATE/NJET in the relevant discipline. OR First Class M.Sc./M.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering/ Remote Sensing/ Geoinformatics/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Spatial Information Sciences/ Electronics & Communication Engineering with valid NET/GATE/N-JET in the relevant discipline.

i) First Class M.E./M.Tech in Civil Engineering (Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Soil and Water Conservation)/ Agriculture Engineering (Water Resources/ Hydrology/ Soil and Water Conservation)/ Remote Sensing/ Geology with valid NET/GATE/NJET in the relevant discipline. OR First Class B.E. Civil Engineering/ M.Sc in Remote Sensing/ Geology/ Geography/ Environmental Science with valid NET/GATE/N-JET in the relevant discipline.

4. Desired Experience/ Knowledge: 

a) Experience in working with high resolution data, field data collection and land use change modeling. Knowledge in Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System, Rural/ Urban Planning.

b) Experience in handling Remote Sensing & GIS softwares or Certificate/ Diploma in Geoinformatics or equivalent and having Knowledge of gathering field data using GPS with satellite data Interpretation.

c) Additional Diploma/ Degree in Remote Sensing and GIS from recognized university will be preferred.

d) Working knowledge in Remote Sensing, GIS & GPS/DGPS.

e) Experience in Hydrological and Hydraulic Modeling using Remote Sensing & GIS inputs etc.

f) Experience in Hydrological Modeling and mapping using Remote Sensing & GIS inputs etc.

g) Knowledge of field sampling/ ecological data collection, etc. or handling RS & GIS software. Experience with Remote Sensing & GIS data processing and analysis, GIS applications in forestry or knowledge of field sampling/ ecological data collection. Working knowledge of Remote Sensing & GIS data processing and analysis and applications in forestry.

h) Working experience in applications of RS and GIS in Agriculture.

i) Working experience in applications of RS & GIS

Age Limit

Maximum Age 28 years as on date of Interview but relaxation by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. Age relaxation as per Government of India orders are applicable to Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities (PWD). Candidate claiming age relaxation have to submit valid documentary proof.

General Conditions:

1. Candidates intending to apply for more than one post should submit separate Biodata for each post at the time of interview.

2. Candidates will have to produce a Final COVID19 Vaccination Certificate (Double Dose) at the time of interview. Candidates with a Single Dose Vaccinated/Not Vaccinated should come with a valid NEGATIVE COVID-19 RT-PCR/TRUENAT/CBNAAT test report (not older than 72 hours) at the time of interview.

3. Those who possess the required qualification as on date of Interview only need to come for interview. Only passed candidates are eligible to appear the interview. Students awaiting for final result need not appear for the walk-in-interview.

4. The Centre provides canteen facilities, library facilities, transport facilities etc.

5. The selected candidates shall be posted at NESAC, Umiam but are also liable to be posted in any place in India at the discretion of Director, NESAC as and when required.

6. Candidates request for changing of date or place for the interview will not be entertained.

7. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.

8. The selected JRFs are encouraged to register for Ph.D from recognized universities and take up relevant research topic benefitting the individual and NESAC. However they have to work extra time to complete the Ph.D research. No leave is admissible for Ph.D work.

9. No interim correspondence will be entertained. In case of any issues pertaining to download of Biodata fromat, candidates may send mail to applications@nesac.gov.in.

10. Date of Interview will be cut-off date for all purposes like age, qualification, etc.

11. The prescribed experience should be after acquiring the essential qualification.

12. Only Indian Nationals need to apply.

13. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.

General Note:

(i) Number of positions indicated above are provisional and may vary depending on the actual requirement.

(ii) M.E./ M.Tech degree should be in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 60% (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 point scale or equivalent from recognized university.

(iii) B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc. degree should be in First Class with an aggregate minimum of 65% (average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10 point scale or equivalent from recognized university.

(iv) Rounding-off marks/CGPA grading are not allowed.

(v) Candidates must clearly mention with supporting proof, the specialization/ dissertation/ thesis in the relevant field wherever applicable for consideration of their application.

(vi) All degrees should be duly recognized by AICTE/UGC, or any other organization authorized by Government of India to do so.

(vii) Experience letter should contain the details of work done by the applicant under different projects.

(viii) In case of foreign degree holders where the documents/degree/certificates are not in English then translation and authorized transcription must be attached and equivalency certificate from Association of Indian University (AIU) must also be scanned and attached. Failure to produce equivalency certificate at the time of interview shall lead to disqualification.

(ix) The qualification prescribed and the benchmark are only the MINIMUM requirement and fulfilling the same does not automatically make a candidate eligible for Interview

(x) Selection will be purely based on performance in the interview.

(xi) The Centre reserves the right not to fill up all or any of the positions, if it so decides.

(xii) The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the respective University/Institution. In case of grades/CGPA, the conversion to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.

(xiii) In case candidate is claiming equivalent specialization, he/she has to obtain certificate from his/her institute/university stating that the specialization is equivalent to the one asked in the advertisement for the position applied for. Candidates who do not fulfill eligibility condition will not be considered for the interview.

How to Apply 

Walk-in-interview scheduled during 27th June 2022 to 05th July 2022 at NESAC, Umiam at 08:30 AM (reporting time).

1. Interested and eligible candidates are required to directly come to the venue along with their Biodata (as per prescribed format) and all relevant original documents in proof of details furnished in the Biodata along with a set of self-attested photocopies of the documents.

2. Candidates who are already employed under Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous Bodies will also have to produce the “No Objection Certificate”, in original, at the time of interview. In case the candidate fails to produce any of the above documents or if any information furnished in the Biodata is found to be wrong or false, the candidate will not be interviewed. The Biodata format is hosted in the NESAC web-site www.nesac.gov.in.

3. Biodata should be neatly typed in the prescribed Biodata Format and then print-out to be taken. Hand written Biodata will not be accepted.
