Research Associate:
Qualification Details:
1. Essential Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in Economics or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with MBA from recognized Institutes/Universities.
2. Experience & Competencies:- Zero to three years experience in the power sector. The person should have good knowledge of data base operation. Persons having knowledge/experience of regulatory work will have added advantage.
3. Rs. 45,000 to 59,000 per month (depending on qualification and experience)
4. Duration of Contract: The Staff Consultant shall now be engaged for the period of two years. However, the period of engagement may be extended, based on the satisfactory performance of the candidate, for the period upto one year on each occasion, whereas it is limited to total period of four years at the maximum.
Research Officer:
Qualification Details:
a. Essential Qualifications:- Post Graduate Degree in Economics or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with MBA from recognized Institutes/Universities.
b. Experience & Competencies:- Minimum of four to seven years experience in the power sector. Person with regulatory work with the exposure to economic analysis would be given preference.
c. Rs. 64,000 to 85,000 per month (depending on qualification and experience)
d. Duration of Contract: The Staff Consultant shall now be engaged for the period of two years. However, the period of engagement may be extended, based on the satisfactory performance of the candidate, for the period upto one year on each occasion, whereas it is limited to total period of four years at the maximum.
Senior Research Officer:
Qualification Details:
a. Essential Qualifications:- Post Graduate Degree in Economics or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with MBA from recognized Institutes/Universities.
b. Experience and Competencies:- Minimum eight to ten years experience in power sector. Ability to undertake independently, strategic studies in the power sector. Knowledge of working of power markets/ power sector issues such as open access, tariff setting, competitive bidding, will be preferred.
c. Rs. 94,000 to 1,03,000 per month (depending on qualification and experience)
d. Duration of Contract: The Staff Consultant shall now be engaged for the period of two years. However, the period of engagement may be extended, based on the satisfactory performance of the candidate, for the period upto one year on each occasion, whereas it is limited to total period of four years at the maximum.

Selection Procedure:

How to Apply:
1. Normal working hours would be 9.30 A.M to 6.00 P.M (05 days week) including half an hour lunch break. The personnel may be called on Saturdays/ Sundays and other gazetted holidays, and required to be present beyond normal working hours in case of exigencies.
2. There will be a provision of 15 days leave in a calendar year (January-December) on monthly pro-rata basis (in addition to the gazetted holidays as applicable in CERC) subject to prior sanction. The intervening Saturdays/ Sundays/ holidays, if any, shall not be counted as leave.
