Inviting of applications for appointment to the post of Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) on Deputation (including short term contract) / Contract basis in the Department of Economic Affairs

6. Eligibility Conditions:
(1) Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administrations o Public Sector Enterprises or Reserve Bank of India or Public Sector Banks or,
(2) Candidates from recognized Universities or recognized Research Institutions or Central Regulatory Bodies or Semi Government or Statutory or Autonomous bodies or registered Private Institutions o Financial Institutions.
(a) (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or (ii) with two years regular service in the scale of '67000-79000 [Level 15 (Rs. 182200— Rs. 224100) as per 7th CPCI or equivalent; and (b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:-
7. Essential:
(i) Master's Degree in Economics or Finance from a recognised University or Institution;
(ii) six years' experience in Economic Research or Providing Economic Advice or Evaluation o Economic Reforms including administrative experience of one year in Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administrations or Public Sector Enterprises or Reserve Bank of India or Public Sector Banks or recognised Universities or recognised Research Institutions or Central Regulatory Bodies or Semi Government or Statutory or Autonomous bodies.
8. Desirable:
(i) Doctorate Degree in Economics or Finance from a recognised University or Institution;
(ii) Published Research work in International or National journals in the area of economics.
Age:
The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract/contract) shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of the receipt of applications.
Note:
Note 1: Deputationists shall only be from the Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administrations; contractual/short-term contractual appointees shall be from rest of the organizations mentioned above.
Note 2: The contractual appointees shall have to possess only the educational qualifications, and the experience specified in sub-item (ii) of the item (b) above shall not be applicable in their case.
Note 3: The period of deputation (including short-term contract) including the period of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding the appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall rdinarily not exceed five years.
Note 4: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract/contract) shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of the receipt of applications.
Note 5: For the purpose of appointment on deputation basis, the service rendered on a regular basis by an officer prior to ISt January 2006 or the date from which the revised pay structure based on the of the Sixth Central Pay Commission has been extended, shall be deemed to b he service rendered in the corresponding grade pay or pay scale extended based on the recommendations of the said
a. Pay Commission except where there has been a merger of more than on the pre-revised scale of pay into one grade with a common grade pay or pay scale, and where this benefit ill extend only for the post(s) for which that grade pay or pay scale in the normal replacement grad without any up-gradation.
